Shirodhara Treatment in Delhi | Experiences of Sanidhya
Due to work and relationship pressures, of late my sleep cycle was suffering tremendously. After consulting various doctors, I turned to Google to provide me with some natural solutions for the same. This is when I came across Shirodhara. Let me explain a little bit about Shirodhara. In this treatment, warm oil is continually poured on your forehead, which has a profound impact on the nervous system. It is said to be thoroughly beneficial for conditions such as, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, Shift work sleep disorder (SWSD), hypertension, jetlag, and so much more.
I opted for Shirodhara because a simple massage would not help me unwind nor was I ready to fill my stomach with prescription pills. Hence, Shirodhara seemed like the best option. It was safe with no side-effects, and there were so many positive reviews about it. I also chose Shirodhara because just imagining the whole scenario was so relaxing.
The next obstacle was finding the right clinic. Now, there are several Ayurvedic centres in my city, Delhi, but I wanted something completely authentic and true. A friend of mine suggested that I try NuAyurveda clinic. So, I checked their website and was very impressed. They are a chain of Ayurvedic centres with qualified doctors and some amazing reviews.
On the day of my appointment, I reached the clinic on time and within 5 minutes of reaching, I met the doctor. The décor was upscale and nice, but they could still work on it to create a soothing atmosphere. But, this is just my opinion. The doctor explained the whole procedure to me and got familiar with my medical history.
I was asked to book an appointment after 2 days because there were some pre-treatment rituals that I was supposed to follow. I was advised to stay at home, before and after the treatment. I was also asked to consume a light meal before the treatment and to dress comfortably in old clothes. This is because your clothes might get stained. So, wear something you don’t mind staining.
The oils used for my treatment were an amalgamation of 2-3 oils infused with Ayurvedic herbs. Post-treatment, you must not wash your hair immediately and must let the oil soak in. It is also a must to avoid caffeine for a few days (which was difficult for me), and you must eat only Khichdi on that day.
So, now let me tell you about the whole experience. It was just heavenly. I have never felt so peaceful or relaxed in my entire life. My insomnia is now under control; however, it is important to continue the Ayurvedic lifestyle for a healthier version of yourself. There are scientific research articles on benefits of Shirodhara. Just eat right, exercise, and meditate.
